UCLA
Bruins (16) @ Stanford Cardinal (8) – Friday November 30, 2012 8:00PM EST
The UCLA Bruins is just fine with a
rematch with the Stanford Cardinal just one week after Stanford beat UCLA at
home by a score of 35-17. The online
sportsbook experts are not giving UCLA much of a chance in the rematch, but
the Bruins are happy to be competing for the Pac-12 title considering the
season it has had. Stanford was the only ranked team that the Bruins lost to
this season, and that was a season that included wins over three other ranked
teams. UCLA intends to shut down the Stanford offense a little better in the
rematch.
The Stanford Cardinal has had an
interesting 2012 season. Most of the NCAA football
betting experts say that Stanford took the wind out if the USC sails when
the Cardinal beat the Trojans in week three. Since then, Stanford has gone on
to establish an impressive 10-2 record with its only two losses coming at the
hands of unranked Washington and the number one ranked Notre Dame Fighting
Irish. Many people say that if the Notre Dame game had gone differently in
overtime and Stanford had won that game, then there is a chance that the Pac-12
championship game could be to see who plays Notre Dame for the national title. But
that is not the case as Stanford gets ready to put an exclamation point at the
end of a great season.
UCLA
Bruins
The online
betting experts have not really been sold on the Bruins at all this season.
To go along with two losses to unranked teams this season, the Bruins have also
had to squeak out wins over teams like Utah, Arizona State and Washington
State. It is this kind of inconsistency that has cost UCLA critical wins and a
shot at a top 10 ranking. UCLA will need to pull its game together if it wants
to have a shot at winning the Pac-12 championship.
Stanford
Cardinals
USC quarterback Matt Barkley was looking
forward to finally beating Stanford in 2012 because the team is without
quarterback Andrew Luck. But Barkley found out that Stanford still has a good
quarterback in Josh Nunes and, more importantly, Barkley got to experience that
Stanford defense first hand. The best sports betting sites were
really interested to see how far the Cardinal could take itself in the
standings this season. A ranking in the BCS top 10 and a Pac-12 championship
are two good ways to end a great season.
The
Bottom Line
Both UCLA and Stanford will wind up in
bowl games this year, but the Bruins really want this Pac-12 championship. The
Bruins is a team with a lot to prove, but it lacks the weapons it needs to make
its point. The Cardinal is just too loaded with talent on both sides of the
ball to let this game slip away.
