NBA Betting - Injuries Hobbling Heat In Preseason

2010 will mark the beginning of an era in South Beach, and not just in NFL betting, as a period of at least five years over which three of the brightest stars in the National Basketball Association will bring their talents together to compete alongside one another in a Miami Heat uniform. When Lebron James and Chris Bosh decided to sign on with Dwayne Wade and company in Florida, the impact on the NBA landscape was dramatic, with both skepticism and optimism combining like a grouping of fireworks set to explode as soon as a match is lit. With the online sports betting regular season still a couple of weeks away, the NBA preseason was expected to be quiet, with the big bang of the regular season opener expected to blow away everyone. However, it’s beginning to appear as though perhaps fans and media alike won’t get to see the true potential of Miami for at least a couple of weeks, as the Heat have already suffered a couple of notable preseason injuries that could keep two of the three stars that make the Big Three the powerful presence they are.

Wade left the team only three minutes in to their preseason opener when he came up limping with a tweaked right hamstring. Forced to leave the game, the initial prognosis of the injury was that the recovery was day-to-day, but now it appears as though the 28-year old will not be ready until at least the team’s regular season opener against the Boston Celtics. Even his status for that game is in the air, especially considering head coach Erik Spoelstra being in no rush to get his stars back in to the lineup so early and risk any of them suffering an even bigger injury. That became an issue on Tuesday night, when another Heat star went down in exhibition play.

James was injured in Tuesday night’s betting game against Moscow, before the Heat prevailed 96-85. The NBA mega star was ushered to the team’s locker room after he fell to the ground gripping his leg in the same fashion that Wade did in the team’s opener. Spoelstra told the media after the win that James will not play out the remainder of the regular season, and that the injury wasn’t serious, but it raises a major issue with this Miami team.

With Wade and James already suffering injuries during the preseason, that leaves Bosh as the only one of the Big Three that appears on track for the opener against the Celtics. The sportsbook reviews have already noted how badly a critical injury would impact this Heat team, and it appears as though the fans have gotten a brief look at how easily it can happen. Miami will be a favorite to finish first in the Eastern conference this season, but in order to get there, the team must make sure that they stay healthy, or they may not even get their shot.
